Full Moon Eclipse Gemini 8deg

30/11/2020

Full Moon eclipses happen when the Earth comes between the Sun and Moon, temporarily blocking the illumination of the Moon from our view.  This is a penumbral eclipse; therefore, the Moons light will not be totally blocked. The Moon represents our emotional needs and what makes us feel fulfilled and secure. So, we may feel more emotional or that our needs and emotions are being eclipsed at this time.

Eclipses may be a time of great change for some, depending on where it is happening in your chart and the planets it affects. Lunar eclipses are the end of a 9month cycle.  So, we sometimes see dramatic endings to things, but with endings comes the birth of a whole new beginning, which yes, may have been forced upon you, but where down the track you may start to see this as something that was ‘the best thing that ever happened for you’.

This eclipse occurs close to the North node which suggests an ending and beginning around our goals and achievements.  This eclipse relates to one that was experienced in late Nov 2012, so look back to that time for what was happening for you (note:  the same things will not  happen again, but there may be something that arises of a similar nature, perhaps emotional stuff that still needs tweaking or working on). But, know that you have grown emotionally and spiritually and this time around you are better prepared.

This eclipse is at 8deg of Gemini and Gemini rules the arms, hands, lungs, communication, thinking, media, siblings, local community and transportation. With the energy of Gemini, it’s a time to look at how we talk to ourselves, are we being kind to ourselves? There may be some anxiety or nervousness around pressing issues, but just remember that anxiety is when we are living too much in the future or in ourselves, so come back to being in the moment, talk to yourself as you would your best friend, seek guidance from a trusted sibling or professional and if all else fails, curl up with a good book or newspaper.

Looking to Lynda Hill’s “The Sabian Symbols as an oracle” book, can give extra insight into what we may feel collectively, metaphorically speaking. Gemini 9deg – “A Medieval Archer stands with the ease of one wholly sure of himself, bow in hand, his quiver filled with arrows.” With this symbol we imagine an Archer who appears confident, he has his ammunition at the ready, but is not compelled to utilise them at present as there is no threat, danger or target, so he remains alert and confident. Are you confident, alert, sure of your target/aim and you ready to pounce on your target, threat or opportunities at this time, metaphorically speaking? Do you feel assured that you have the right ammunition/information, correct aim and are you in the right place and time to take aim and hit your target?

This symbol indicates it may not be time for action, but in preparing oneself for action. Do you possess the skill, knowledge and confidence required to get to the heart of the matter facing you? Don’t be distracted or led away from what you need to do, instead, stay focused, armed and ready to go for the objective when it presents itself.  Make a strategy, plan and then take aim and hit the mark.  If you need to send a message out to someone, make it truthfully honest and clear.  Using the symbology of the ‘Arrow’ or ‘Target’ at this time, can lead to surprising results.  Think Bulls-Eye Winner!

“Talking without thinking is like shooting without taking aim.” Proverb

Next in importance to having a good aim is to recognize when to pull the trigger.” Elmer Letterman

If you would hit the mark, you must aim a little above it; Every arrow that flies feels the attraction of Earth.” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

At any full moon we have the Sun opposing the Moon and the symbol for this degree is “A Mother leads her small child step by step up the stairs” This degree speaks metaphorically of a feminine caring energy assisting someone less experienced or possibly less evolved, to protect, to overcome difficulties, to rise up and learn to cope, to learn or understand. But If we rush this crucial step by step progress, the psychological impact can sometimes lead to constant anxiety of failure in future objectives.  Patience, planning and some guidance are all necessary at this time, in order not to discourage the “small child” or indeed our own or someone else’s “inner child” when learning very important lessons.

So, with this symbol we may ask ourselves or witness others feeling exhausted by parental/teaching obligations and the need may arise to take a step back, grab some patience or take some chill time?  Are you concerned for your elders who may be less upwardly mobile, sick or frail? Do you feel as though you are ‘not getting’ or are you in fact ‘not giving’ the help that may be required to those less able or less evolved as you? Does it feel as though the future or visions are obscured in some way and you are not sure what the correct next steps are for you to take? Is there too much judgement from another or on your part, thereby everyone missing the joy inherent in the wonderful moments if we would only take the time?

In a nutshell: Gemini eclipse opposite Sagittarius – Ruler of the the eclipse Mercury is in Scorpio – Communicate with care, truth, honesty and most of all with love! Talk gently to yourself! Probe for deeper meaning when unclear/uncertain. Plan for gaining skills required. Keep your faith, hope and optimism alive! Miscommunication can be ripe, so be sure to check and check again before giving out information or criticisms and if you are feeling insulted or offended be sure that this is not just a miscommunication first. Something to remember is that Lunar eclipses are karmic periods where we are compelled or made to learn something and Solar eclipses are a time when we are compelled or made to teach something. So, go gently on yourself, loved ones and others at this time as we all the navigate these eclipse energies.

Much love to all!

Take Care!
